Re: Class B All State Predictions

Lots of great 'B' players in our state. Coachwatch, I note that you have 7 on your 1st team & I think the max per team is 6. I think your 1st team is probably spot on. Both you & JDJ need to take over the Hanson Anderson Publication. I think you guys are quite passionate about High school hoops & we...

Re: Preview for Class B next year!

Run down on Class B hoops for next year 2020-2021 DeSmet - Return almost everyone. Kalen Garry - 21ppg (Best Junior in the State) , Osthus - 12ppg, Holland as juniors. Cavanaugh & McCune as Seniors. Battle tested. Viborg Hurley - Return a ton of incoming seniors, ton of athletes. Sherman - 17.2 ppg...

Re: State Boys Tourney next week? Will it happen?

This is an extremely delicate issue. "Not many coming from out of state like big tournaments" has nothing to do with this. These are the biggest tournaments our state has to offer & the virus is in our state. I'm glad I'm not on the SDHSAA.

Re: Class B Hoops Playoff preview

I could actually see the double upset happen in region 4 . No hating on either Hanson or Howard, both worthy state tournament teams, but wouldn't surprise me to see Ethan and DRSM come out of that region with the results from past close games with probable opponents. Region 4 will be a tough one fo...

Re: DWU Classic 2-15-20

I think canistota got hosed on this draw Aberdeen Christian should play DeSmet What do you mean Canistota got hosed? What are you talking about? It's a top 5 match-up in a great time slot in a great environment. Both line-ups & their styles are very similar. I think it is a very intriguing game & s...

Re: Couple of good match ups tonight - 2/4/20

Chase Merrill & Colbe Scott will have to shoot lights out to beat VH. They have been consistently good but matchup problems will be to their disadvantage.
Desmet by 20+. CE won't be able to handle the intensity of it but Voelker has given them a chance to be a spoiler in their region

Re: Hoop City Classic makeup

Where have all the fans gone? My oh my, what a finish between White River & Howard!! For the 100 people or so that were there they won't soon forget the incredible 4th quarter. If you are a fan that is what you hope to see each and every time you go to a game. I thought both teams put it on the line...

Re: Hanson vs Viborg Hurley tonight

Hanson matches up well with VH. Actually, they have the better guards, so with that being said I like Hanson to keep this very close & possibly beat them. It would be no upset.

Re: Class B preview for 2019-2020

Not sure what your question is? But yes they will look different with the loss of Wells, Sazue, Sorace, & Ioyotte. (But Coach Marshall will coach them up.) But alot of transfers happen on the reservation and a few non reservations school as well. Keep an eye on Canistota, they seem to get a few new...

11B Way Too Early Top 5 2020

I Know the season just finished but here is my 2020 Pre-Season Top 5 for 11B. Who does everyone else have?
1. Winner
2. BEE
3. Sioux Valley
4. MCM
5. EPJ

Re: BEE vs Winner

BEE. Their line, which is young and the question mark coming into this season, has really stepped up late. Since that close game against MCM and thier backup QB week 5 they have looked like a completely different team. That shut out against MCM last week was impressive. Brady Hawkins will be the di...

Re: Discussion

There are problems with 11AA for sure. Look at the season's entirety. Dakota Valley beats Yankton, St. Thomas Moore beats Spearfish, Canton beats Huron, Madison plays Brookings very tough & Mitchell was the #3 rated team in the polls when they played Pierre after losing to SF Christian & Dell Rapids...

Re: 11B Playoff Seeding

Thanks for the insight Recruit! Weather & injuries will be the biggest factors as the playoffs near. Which teams are built for adverse conditions? Which teams have depth? Which teams have the experience? Which teams have the pedigree? I think you pretty much summed it all up in your analysis. Genera...

Re: 2019 11A/B Predictions

What about Milbank in 11A? I'd agree on the top 3 but I'd go with Canton #1. I know that Allmendinger (Gregory) moved up there & he had a nice offensive philosophy. Does anyone know anything about Milbank? On the QB topic & I know it's for another thread, but I forgot to mention the Pierre QB Garret...

Re: 2019 11A/B Predictions

Webster I believe moved up to 11B. They have a 300+lb transfer from SFC which will help their already strong line. They also have a large group of seniors returning. My top 5 would be Winner, STM, Webster, BEE, EPJ and MVP. Winner will need to replace linemen but has a lot of skilled players return...
