Re: Region Track Meets

The region system rewards (or punishes) athletes based on geographic location. That is no way to qualify for a state meet. There has to be a minimum standard.

Re: Region Track Meets

Old faithful, the system is broke. The region track meets have zero significance. It has turned into a 75% JV Meet.

Re: 2017-18 Girls' Season Forecast

So this game won't count for region seeding for STM. The cutoff is Friday, 2/16. Will it count for Sweet 16 or State Tourney seeding?

Re: Coaches Leaving

Usually, to win a state title you have to have a strong program. I'd say Dells has that. You also need good athletes and depth. Schools are dealt the players they get. When a good class or two comes up together, you have a shot. Not sure the base offense matters much. Madison could have won this yea...

Re: DAK 12 - NEC Conference Clash

FirstWorldProblems: There is a reason Madison built the new gym. The old one was too small and had to use the DSU Fieldhouse for big games. Put your marquee games on the regulation court. Period.

Re: DAK 12 - NEC Conference Clash

I'll take the over. I don't think they will beat Vermillion either, but I think they could make it interesting.

They should have ensured the marquee match-ups were in the Main Gym. Roncalli and Tea don't deserve to play in the smaller Auxiliary gym.

TP2 may have just come up with the simplest solution in the history of solutions. I'll take it further, accumulation of technical fouls throughout the season should have consequences as well.

From the Handbook Class “AA”, Class “A” and Class “B” Sub-State and State Seeding Formula 1. It will be mandatory to seed all Class “AA”, “A” and Class “B” teams at the sub-state and state tournaments. Doomsday is correct. Sioux Valley dumped Madison.

Solution to SV Schedule: Stop playing conference tournaments and pick one conference.

Re: 2017-18 Girls' Season Forecast

My kids aren't open enrolled or in private school. They have shown no interest in doing that either. If they were, we would listen. Their school happens to have good teachers, good coaches and strong leadership. Some schools do not. It isn't always as simple as you make it out to be.

Re: Derek Peters

My goodness. That is the most short-sighted post I have ever seen. Do some research. Wisconsin is a highly regarded cross country program. They are in the same conversation as Oregon, Colorado and Stanford. Duke is a perennial top-5 basketball program but they don't always make it past the first wee...
