Jessica Mieras, an upcoming sophomore at O’Gorman High School, has given a verbal commitment to play women’s basketball at South Dakota State.

The 6-foot-2 post averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in a reserve role as a freshman. She picked up the scholarship offer earlier this summer while playing with the Dakota Schoolers.

Papa, would you remind me who their mom is? I believe I remember hearing, while watching the state tourney last year, that they have some pretty good blood lines but I can't remember for sure. Thanks.

I think their mom is Lori Wolleheber (I hope I spelled that right) who was an all state player at Summit in the early 80's if I remember right.

From the Argus Leader today:

"Lincoln senior Cera Ledbetter will sign a letter of intent to play junior college basketball at Central Arizona on Monday, according to her father."

From today's KCCR news:

Severyn Heading To SDSU

South Dakota State University head women’s basketball coach Aaron Johnston announced today that Pierre Lady Governor Basketball player Kaitlyn Severyn has signed her national letter of intent to play for the Jackrabbits next season. Severyn averaged 11.1 points and 7.7 boards per game as a junior. The three-time All-Eastern South Dakota Conference selection helped the Governors to an 11-12 record last year.
