Nate Gerry

Postby Lincoln Parent » April 3rd, 2012, 6:01 pm

Good article today in the Argus about Nate.

http://www.argusleader.com/article/2012 ... ck_check=1

I question one thing in the article. His 100 time. Nate ran a 11.16 at the state meet last year and Gemechu Godi of Lincoln won it at 10.91. I do not follow every single track meet Nate Gerry has ever run in, but I would need to see some proof he ripped off a 10.7 100 meter dash. Not saying he couldn't do it or still might....he has 2 years of track left in high school. Just saying, I haven't seen that, but maybe I missed it.

This also makes me wonder about Cole Langer and what is going on with him.

An Iowa football site says they've already offered Nate.

No football coach cares what his 100 time is .... 40 time is a different story?

He ran a 10.7 last year in track. I do not know the specific meet it was in but Im pretty sure it was early last track season. Could have possibly been a little wind aided. Dont know about the Langer kid but after watching him in the dome last year, he is not even close to the same class as a Nate Gerry.

Rivals.com has him listed as having an offer from Iowa too. Also offers from SDSU, UND, USD, and Montana.

I'm guessing based upon the fact that Montana currently has a 69 year old Interim Head Coach (* Probably for 1-Year only) doesn't help the Grizzlies much when it comes to landing prospects like Gerry (Unfortunate)?

Will Nebraska offer Nate (Nate ranks his NE Visit a "10") :

I've seen a blog where the Huskers would like to put 25-30 lbs on Nate .... that's sounding a lot like LINEBACKER intentions at UNL, if they decide to offer?

Sounds like Nate has received an offer from Nebraska.

Yes he has now received an offer from Nebraska. 1 article mentions he is going to a Nike Combine in Memphis after the state track meet. If he continues to do how he has done at these combines I would not be surprised if a lot more teams become interested in Nate Gerry and offer him as well.

i dont know if anyone else is curious as i am as to how washington has so many kids going to the d1 level? before these past few years it would be rare for a SD kid to go to a d1 one school (above sdsu or usd). guys like chad greenway and riley rieff were the only ones i am familiar with. But now washington has sent two farnioks to d1 schools and gerry will soon follow, gebhart went to ndsu and hermanson to montana which are both on another level than state or usd. is it something in that east side water that is making these guys better?

An outstanding football program attracts outstanding players that then get even better playing in an outstanding program with other outstanding players. Washington has an outstanding football program, so it's not a surprise that they attract outstanding players and that their outstanding players attract attention from big-time colleges. I suspect there will be more as long as the train stays on its current track.
