Could not find a mention on the post, but I know Ty Hoglund of Dell Rapids has committed to Dakota Wesleyan. I believe that is a HUGE get for DWU -- great basketball player and a great kid.

Watertown PG Nate Davis announced via Twitter tonight that he will play at DWU next fall. Another great get by Coach Wilber!

Always amusing to me that DWU has an incoming freshman class of around 30 kids every year.

A ton of signings each year. They sure do have a successful program in recent years though.

But, it sounds like quite a few from this years incoming freshman class at DWU, will not be playing next season?

Some DWU signees will leave after 1 yr when they realize they will not get playing time.

Wilber has done a great job getting local talent into his program. Hoglund was a huge get by him and DWU and he follows that up with Kramer, Vettrus and Nate Davis. It's going to be exciting to watch DWU basketball these next 4 years.

I was referring to this year's freshmen, (next yr's soph. class), when I said many not returning. So XXX69 is right, some leave because of playing time and I believe some are transferring to different schools to pursue other academic interests.

Sorry for not explaining myself better. I think it's awesome that Wilbur is doin such a wonderful job of getting a lot of SDs best bball players. It's fun to watch DWU cause u know everyone. But realistically not all of them r gonna play. So some will leave for academic reasons but most try to find a place so they can play and showcase what they have. Do u think it would be fun to ride the pine for possibly 4yrs??? Hoglund was the recruit of the yr. I firmly believe he coulda played for USD or SDSU. 6'3 left handed pt guard that can shoot lights out!! What's wrong with our big state schools is my question?

I have a feeling Wilbur being from Dell Rapids maybe pulled Hoglund away from Augie and USF but you'd think it would be tough for him to turn down an offer to play D1 so idk. Does anyone know if he was offered by either USD or SDSU?
