2019 High School Baseball Season

Postby CSDsportsfan1 » March 27th, 2019, 10:16 am

The high school baseball season got underway this week as Brandon Valley made the trip to Kansas over the weekend to get some games in, and Rapid City Central beat Douglas last night 11-1 in Rapid City.

So what teams are going to be playing in Sioux Falls on Memorial Day weekend? Looking for info on both Class A and Class B teams.

Looks like the Class A state tourney is pretty wide open with Brandon Valley going in as a slight favorite behind the pitching of Dylan Kirkeby. Mitchell has the potential to steal BV's thunder with a team that is heavy with seniors and talent. O'Gorman may have the second best pitcher in the state in Reece Arbogast, who is only a sophomore, and a good offensive lineup to backup their title bid. Roosevelt is the underdog as they come in as the 11 seed but Karsten Grove is a solid #1 starter. If he can shut down the O'G bats, Roosy has the potential to pull the upset.
